Description
EPI –system is a two component adhesive system based on polymer isocyanate emulsion.
Usage
DESCRIPTION
EPI –system is a two component adhesive system based on polymer isocyanate emulsion.
AREA OF APPLICATION
EPI system for veneer lamination, windows, doors, wooden forms, tables, garden furniture, furniture boards.
EPI system advantages:
- High joint strength
- Environmentally friendly, doesn’t contain volatile solvents and and formaldehyde
- Long-live waterproof and thermo resistant joint is stable to solvents
- Finished adhesive bond has a high initial strength, high moisture and solvent resistance as well as good thermal resistance
- Good joints filling

Consumption |
Glue mixture consumption depends on the method used and adhesive conditions ranging 200 - 300 g/m2. Average amount is 250 g/m2. Typically, the glue is applied as a uniform coat on one side but double side application is used in more important working when exclusive requirements are needed. |
Application
STANDARD REQUIREMENTS
Umacoll 552/02 conforms to requirements of EN 204 class D4, EN 391, JAS 235, GOST 33122 type III, GOST 20850 for specification grade 2b and 3.
MATERIAL HUMIDITY
Optimal wood humidity 10-12%
CONDITIONS
Gluing requires ambient or material temperature 20±2ºС. Lower temperature is possible but not below +7ºС. In this case pressing time should be increased.
INSTRUCTION FOR USE
Proportions and mixing time |
Mix hardener and adhesive in proportion of 100 parts by weight of adhesive to 13-15 parts of hardener. Stir thoroughly to complete homogeneous mixture. Approximate mixing time handily is 2 min, mechanically – approx. 30 s. |
Pot life |
Pot life is 45 min at 20ºС. Depending on ambient temperature pot life ranges 30 - 60 min. |
Pressing time |
Depends on glue consumption, methods of use, temperature, humidity, type of wood etc. Average pressing time is 30 min at 20ºС. |
Pressure |
0,8-1,2 МPa |
Hardening |
Glued parts can be machined in 5-6 h. Full time of hardening and strengthening is 24 h. Full joint water resistance is achieved after 7 -10 days. |
Tools |
Brush, roll, glue application machine. |
Cleaning |
The equipment and tools are washed with warm water before glue hardening. Dry glue is cleaned mechanically. |
Application |
Apply the adhesive as a uniform coat on one side. Double side application is preferably used for hard wood. |
Storage
STORAGE
Adhesive and hardener should be kept separately. Store in a dry and cool place at +5…30 °C, in a tightly sealed original container. If not closed tightly, surface film can be formed. Protect from freezing!
GUARANTED STORAGE LIFE
Expire date is 6 months in case if delivery and storing rules are followed. After expire date shouldn’t be used without tests.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
Use protective gloves and breathing mask. In case of skin contact hardener should be washed with polyethylenglycol-based cleaner and large amount of water with soap. Ready mixture shouldn’t be kept tightly closed because of carbon oxide evolution! A separate material safety data sheet is available by request.
